Our Story
Our bees forage in the natural pristine wilderness of King Island, located off the northwest tip of Tasmania in Bass Strait. Contrary to what its name might suggest, King Island is very small, measuring only 60km north-to-south and 20km east-to-west.
At King Island Pure, we have exclusive access to the last of the treasured native Manuka forests flourishing here. In fact, if you know where to look, you can see our beehives on Google Earth.
Provenance of product is critical in this day and age, and King Island Pure Manuka is one of the rare producers making some of the purest, organic, pesticide and herbicide-free Manuka honey on the market today.
Our ability to produce this pure monofloral Manuka honey is due to the lack of floral diversity on King Island. The Manuka tree is by far the dominant tree species on the island, which means the bees can only source nectar from the Manuka tree. There is no other significant nectar source for King Island bees.
Just Manuka flowers — meaning that King Island Pure Manuka honey is a genuinely rare monofloral honey with magical healing properties and exceptional taste.
